The freeform nature of Paradome arch designs allows for domes, extended domes, ellipses, tunnels, half-cylinders, parabolas, cupolas...in almost any combination.  Look here in the near future for innovative and imaginative floorplans and design options to get your own project moving.

OK - before I start pasting domes on this page, I just wanted to drop a non-dome bermed 3 BDR home (earth only against outer walls, not on roof) that has a standard roof and a central 20x20 atrium open to the sky.  Of course, this atrium could always be enclosed, or even extended to enclose a pool.  The trade-off is that the home is less durable and energy-efficient, but remains on a single level, is naturally lit, and still has some thermal mass to work with.
